And mention in the Book Abraham; surely he was a true man, a Prophet. 41 [Mention] when he said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all? 42 O my father! Lo! there hath come unto me of knowledge that which came not unto thee. So follow me, and I will lead thee on a right path. 43 O my father, do not worship Satan. Indeed Satan has ever been, to the Most Merciful, disobedient. 44 Father, I am afraid that the Beneficent God's torment will strike you and you will become a friend of satan." 45 He said: "Are you averse to my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I shall have you stoned to death. So go away for a while from me." 46 [Abraham] replied: "Peace be upon thee! I shall ask my Sustainer to forgive thee: for, behold, He has always been kind unto me. 47 I shall withdraw from you and that unto which ye pray beside Allah, and I shall pray unto my Lord. It may be that, in prayer unto my Lord, I shall not be unblest. 48 Then when he had renounced them and that which they worshipped beside Allah, We bestowed on him Is'haq and Ya'qub and each one We made a prophet! 49 We granted them Our mercy and bestowed on them true and high renown. 50
