The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
