Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! 1 "which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; 2 and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 ‘And that the mosques are for Allah only – therefore do not worship anyone along with Allah.’ 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
