The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Woe unto every slanderer, traducer, 1 Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it. 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 covered down upon them, 8 in extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
