And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 [how it was] when he asked his father and his people, "What is it that you worship?" 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 86 Do not betray me 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
