A (goodly) number from those of old, 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 Those on the Left: how unfortunate are those on the Left! 41 [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 and constantly said: 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we then be restored to life? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say, "Indeed, the earlier ones and the later ones 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers 51 Will eat of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 "Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 53 and will thereupon have to drink [many a draught] of burning despair 54 And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Have you thought about what (sperm) you ejaculate? 58 Is it you who create it - or are We the source of its creation? 59 We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone 60 In the matter of exchanging you for others, and to transform you into what you do not know. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? 63 Do you make it grow or is it We who make it grow? 64 If We will We can make it like dry trampled hay, so you would keep crying out. 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 So what is your opinion regarding the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds or is it We Who brought it down? 69 If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks? 70 Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world). 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
