The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
