Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
ALL PRAISE BE to God who created the heavens and the earth, and ordained darkness and light. Yet the unbelievers make the others equal of their Lord. 1 He it is Who created you from clay, then He decreed a term; and there is a term named with Him; still you doubt. 2 He is God both in the heavens and on earth. He has knowledge of all that you hide and all that you reveal. He knows what you do; 3 Yet no sign of their Lord comes to them but they turn away from it. 4 For they had denied the truth when it came to them, but there is going to reach them the news of what they used to ridicule. 5 Do they not see how many civilisations We destroyed before them, whom We had established more firmly in the earth than We have established you, and We sent on them abundant rain from the sky, and made the rivers flow beneath them? So we destroyed them because of their sins, and created another civilisation after them. 6 But even if we had sent down unto thee [O Prophet] a writing on paper, and they had touched it with their own hands - those who are bent on denying the truth would indeed have said, "This is clearly nothing but a deception!" 7 And they say, "Why was there not sent down to him an angel?" But if We had sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided; then they would not be reprieved. 8 Had We appointed an angel, We would have sent him down in the form of a man - and thus We would have caused them the same doubt which they now entertain. 9 And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by that which they used to ridicule. 10
