And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 “And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations.” 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 (On that Day) the Garden will be brought near to the God-fearing, 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 nor any loving friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
