The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
