The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they sat by it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
