Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
