The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
