The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
