Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
