And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 if you obey a human being just like yourselves, then you will surely be lost. 34 Does he promise you that when you are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, you will be brought forth to life? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, utterly far-fetched is what you are being promised. 36 There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again. 37 He is nothing but a man who attributes his own lying inventions to God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 'What' they said, 'are we to believe in two mortals like us, whose nation are our worshipers' 47 So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a miracle and settled them on a high land, quite secure and watered by a spring. 50
