And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
