Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By oath of the clear Qur’an. 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 that you may be seated on their backs and then remember your Lord's blessing when you are seated on them, and say, 'Glory be to Him, who has subjected this to us, and we ourselves were not equal to it; 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
