The warnings came to the people of Pharaoh. 41 They belied Our signs everyone thereof; whereof We laid hold of them with the grip of the Mighty, Powerful. 42 ARE, THEN, those of you who [now] deny the truth better than those others - or have you, perchance, [been promised] immunity in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom? 43 Or they say, “We shall all take revenge as a group.” 44 [Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]. 45 Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter. 46 The evil-doers are victims of error and madness. 47 The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" 48 Indeed, We have created all things according to a measure. 49 And Our commandment is but one (commandment), as the twinkling of an eye. 50 Thus, indeed, did We destroy people like you [in the past]: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 51 And everything they have wrought is in the Writs. 52 And everything, small and big is written (in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz already beforehand i.e. before it befalls, or is done by its doer) (See the Quran V. 57:22). 53 Indeed the pious are amidst Gardens and springs. 54 Seated in an assembly of the Truth, in the presence of Allah, the Omnipotent King. 55
