Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 The honourable recorders. 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 to burn therein. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
