Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
Never have We sent a Prophet to a place without trying its people with adversity and hardship that they may humble themselves. 94 then We gave them in the place of evil good, till they multiplied, and said, 'Hardship and happiness visited our fathers.' So We seized them suddenly, unawares. 95 Had the people of the towns believed (in Our revelations) and maintained piety, We would have certainly showered on them Our blessings from the sky and the earth. But they called Our revelations lies, thus Our torment struck them for their evil deeds. 96 Are the people of the townships then secure that Our wrath would not come upon them at night while they are slumbering? 97 What! do the people of the towns feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they play? 98 What! do they then feel secure from Allah's plan? But none feels secure from Allah's plan except the people who shall perish. 99
