Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 watching over you 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
