The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn, 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 and purify your clothing, 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 it will be a hard day 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 and whom I have granted abundant wealth 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 Then looked he, 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 [Hence,] I shall cause him to endure hell-fire [in the life to come]! 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
