The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 pay their religious tax 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
