And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
