The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O believers, advance not before God and His Messenger; and fear God. God is All-hearing, All-knowing. 1 O believers, raise not your voices above the Prophet's voice, and be not loud in your speech to him, as you are loud one to another, lest your works fail while you are not aware. 2 Indeed those who suppress their voices in the presence of Allah’s Noble Messenger, are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for piety; for them is forgiveness, and a great reward. 3 Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers - most of them do not use reason. 4 If they had waited for you to come out it would have been better for them. But God is forgiving and kind. 5 O you who believe, if a dissolute person brings some news, verify it first lest you attack a people ignorantly and later regret what you had done. 6 And know that Allah’s Noble Messenger is among you; in most of the affairs, were he to listen to you, you would surely fall into hardship, but Allah has made faith dear to you and has instilled it in your hearts, and has made disbelief and rebellion and disobedience abhorred by you; it is people like these who are on guidance. 7 (It is) a bounty and a grace from Allah; and Allah is Knower, Wise. 8 If two parties of the believers happen to fight, make peace between them. But then, if one of them transgresses against the other, fight the one that transgresses until it reverts to Allah's command. And if it does revert, make peace between them with justice, and be equitable for Allah loves the equitable. 9 Surely the believers are none but brothers unto one another, so set things right between your brothers, and have fear of Allah that you may be shown mercy. 10
