A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a crowd of the later. 40 As for the People on the Left: how miserable will be the People on the Left! 41 They will live amid the scorching, 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 neither cool, neither goodly; 44 For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury), 45 And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme! 46 And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again, 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 and then, verily, O you who have gone astray and called the truth a lie, 51 will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 And will fill your bellies therewith; 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 That We may substitute others like unto you and produce you into that which ye know not. 61 You certainly knew about (your) first development. Why do you not take heed? 62 So what is your opinion regarding what you sow? 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 Verily we are undone. 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 And have you seen the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it to descend from the clouds, or do We? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 And have you seen the fire that you ignite? 71 Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? 72 We have made it as a reminder of hell and as a utility for travellers in the jungle. 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74
