Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
