The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
