The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
