He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 Yet you pay attention 5 So you are after him! 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 lofty and pure, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Noble and pious. 16 May man be slain – how ungrateful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 And produce therein corn, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 and olives and palms, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 and covered by darkness. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
