The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 On a mighty Day. 5 a day when mankind shall stand before the Lord of all Being? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a written book, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
