The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Beneficent 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
