And the king said, “I saw in a dream seven healthy cows whom seven lean cows were eating, and seven green ears of corn and seven others dry; O court-members! Explain my dream, if you can interpret dreams.” 43 "They were only confused dreams," they said; "we do not know how to interpret them." 44 But the man who had been released, one of the two (who had been in prison) and who now bethought him after (so long) a space of time, said: "I will tell you the truth of its interpretation: send ye me (therefore)." 45 (He said): "O Yusuf (Joseph), the man of truth! Explain to us (the dream) of seven fat cows whom seven lean ones were devouring, and of seven green ears of corn, and (seven) others dry, that I may return to the people, and that they may know." 46 He replied: 'You shall sow for seven years as is your way. Leave in the ear (of corn) you reap, except a little which you eat. 47 Then thereafter will come seven hard years which will devour that which ye have laid up beforehand for them except a little which ye shall preserve. 48 This will be followed by a year of rain, and people shall press (the grapes)." 49
