Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
