The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
