So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79
