And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
