Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and the burden-bearers 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
