Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
