Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, 1 Until you come to the graves. 2 No! You are going to know. 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 you shall surely see Hell; 6 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8
