And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. 36 Surely the (devils) obstruct them from the path, though they think they are rightly guided, -- 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 It shall not profit you today, since you did evil, that you are partners in the chastisement. 39 (Muhammad), can you make the deaf hear or guide the blind or the one who is clearly in error? 40 And if We take thee away, We surely shall take vengeance on them, 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 It is a (source) of greatness for you and your people. You will surely be questioned about it. 44 And question thou our messengers whom We sent before thee; did We appoint any deities other than (Allah) Most Gracious, to be worshipped? 45
