The Romans (Al-Room)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 The Romans have been defeated 2 in the neighbouring land; but after their defeat they shall gain victory 3 Within a few (up to nine) years time; only for Allah is the command, before and after; and the believers will rejoice on that day. 4 With the help of Allah; He helps whom He pleases; and He is the Mighty, the Merciful; 5 It is a promise of Allah. Allah faileth not His promise, but most of mankind know not. 6 They know the outward of this world's life, but of the hereafter they are absolutely heedless. 7 Do they not think deeply (in their ownselves) about themselves (how Allah created them from nothing, and similarly He will resurrect them)? Allah has created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, except with truth and for an appointed term. And indeed many of mankind deny the Meeting with their Lord. [See Tafsir At-Tabari, Part 21, Page 24]. 8 Have they, then, never journeyed about the earth and beheld what happened in the end to those [deniers of the truth] who lived before their time? Greater were they in power than they are; and they left a stronger impact on the earth, and built it up even better than these [are doing]; and to them [too] came their apostles with all evidence of the truth: and so, [when they rejected the truth and thereupon perished,] it was not God who wronged them, but it was they who had wronged themselves. 9 Then the fate of those who committed evil to the extreme was that they denied the signs of Allah and used to mock at them. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
