The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
