Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
