The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful One 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
