Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
