Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In high empyrean 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
