NAY, but consider the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 About the criminals, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
