The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 For a mighty day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
